Pumpin' Ain't Easy!

Welcome to motherhood, where nothing is easy! Plan to bottle feed your baby? Here’s an overwhelming amount of bottle and nipple and formula options for you to research and sample and stress out over. Breastfeeding, instead? Let’s send some sore boobs, cracked nipples, plugged ducts and latch issues your way, then! As if breastfeeding in and of itself isn’t hard enough, there’s the bizarre, time-consuming and honestly downright tedious world of breast pumps to navigate, too. Trying to figure out which pump was best, what bottles it would work with, whether or not to go with what my insurance provided or just pay for one that may be better, then all the steps to get the insurance-covered pump… Do you want to scream yet? Because I did. Multiple times. The whole process was like pulling teeth, as if there weren’t a million and one other choices to make, like portable crib or bassinet, which car seat was safest, was a travel system really necessary, etc.

When it comes to making the best choices, new and expecting mamas need all the help we can get! That’s why I’m so excited to share with you all about an amazing resource I honestly had no idea existed when I really needed it; I want other mamas out there to have it easier than I did when it comes to the process of getting an insurance-provided pump! So many women out there aren’t even informed that under the Affordable Care Act, many insurance companies are now covering the cost of breast pumps and providing them to nursing and expecting moms at little or no cost. So now that you know (in case you didn’t), I’m also here to tell you about Aeroflow Breastpumps, an amazing resource created so that nursing and pregnant mothers can have access to a user-friendly website that provides all the information and supplies needed in order to facilitate a hassle-free, successful breast pump shopping experience.

Through Aeroflow Breastpumps, mothers have direct access to a Breastpump Specialist who can provide personalized advice and recommendations for breast pumps that will meet her specific pumping needs, best suit her lifestyle and help her meet her breastfeeding goals! Not only will these Breastpump Specialists do a big part of the research, but they also navigate insurance policies to streamline the process, giving mamas-to-be and new moms one less headache on the steps towards a successful breastfeeding journey. All that mothers need to do is visit the Aeroflow Breastpump website to submit their information, and a Breastpump Specialist will take it from there, from obtaining prescriptions to verifying benefits with insurance providers. Another benefit of using Aeroflow and a Breastpump Specialist is that since their recommendations are customized to a mom’s lifestyle needs, they will include pumps that are fully covered by insurance, as well as some that may come at a bit of an extra cost but will better fit her lifestyle needs, such as cordless/battery-powered pumps for moms who are always on the go, etc. Did I mention their services are completely FREE? I don’t know about you, but I love free! To make the best of Aeroflow’s services, the company recommends mamas contact them 30-60 days before baby is due to sort through the insurance process and ship pumps out with plenty of time; however, new and nursing moms are eligible for a pump up to a year after giving birth. A Specialist will contact a mom within 3-5 days of completing the Qualify through Insurance form, and that is that; Aeroflow will take it from there, so you don’t have to!

As someone who handled the insurance-provided pump process all on my own, I can ascertain that it was a pain in the neck, and had I known Aeroflow existed, I most definitely would have taken advantage of it! I ended up with a pump that most certainly does the job, but was not suited to my needs and is very difficult and inconvenient for me to use at work, where I pump 1-2 times a day, and so obnoxious that I don’t even use it at home if I can avoid it. Not to mention securing my prescription, my provider, and all my insurance information to the breast pump company, unsure of which models my policy would cover… Had I known about Aeroflow, I’m sure a specialist would’ve afforded me all this hassle; so I have to share to save other mamas the headaches I had! I hope that you will find this post and info helpful, or share with a mama who might. Motherhood is hard enough as it is, so if you plan to breastfeed and/or pump, make sure and take advantage of Aeroflow Breastpumps to make it easier! I know I wish I had!

Happy mommin’!
